History of the Finance studies @ UTU
Students have always wanted to study finance at the Turku School of Economics. Most of them have chosen Accounting as their major as Finance was not officially available. The number of students choosing Accounting with an intention to focus on finance started to increase after 2008. In 2010, the name of the major was changed to Accounting and Finance to reflect the new development. Due to capacity constraint, an upper limit to the number of students choosing A&F was set. Nowadays, the number of students focusing on finance has increased even further and approximately 40% of the A&F students choose finance as their specialization.
