The fall application period during the academic year 2026-2027 is from 25 August to 8 September 2026 (right to study from 1 January 2027). Doctoral researcher positions with an employment contract are also available for the absolute best applicants (evaluated across all majors at the Turku School of Economics). Please note that
- you DO NOT have to contact the professors prior to submitting your application. We will contact the best applicants after reviewing the applications.
- if you need more information, contact the programme coordinator, and she will send you more information about doctoral studies in finance.
- we do not accept part-time doctoral researchers, and the studies require presence in Finland.
- the competition for the funded positions is extremely tough. In Fall 2025, we received 13 applications, interviewed three applicants, and ultimately awarded funding to only one applicant.
- we are willing to consider Cotutelle agreements, but note that typically one cannot avoid taking the compulsory core courses from the Graduate School of Finance.
