Research seminars
We organize two different research seminars for our own and outside researchers in finance.
Our Department of Accounting and Finance organizes a Research Seminar in Accounting & Finance in a continuous fashion. If you are interested in presenting your paper, more information is available here. Both finance and accounting papers can be selected for presentation, and researchers from both fields often take part in the seminar, depending on the topic. This seminar is well-known for the extensive and detailed comments on the presented papers. Many presenters have said that they have never received as many comments from as many people.
We also organize an annual Turku Finance Research Seminar, typically in the spring. A call for papers is announced in the website’s news section well ahead of the seminar. Papers across all areas of finance are welcome for presentation. This seminar is well-known for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere, where everyone gets good advice, especially on work-in-progress papers.
Our doctoral researchers are also expected to present their work at the GSF Winter or Summer Research Workshops as well as international workshops and conferences.
As we are part of the GSF, our faculty (including doctoral researchers) can participate in the Helsinki Researcher Seminar (on campus or online).
